Sail · Day Cruiser · Custom Build
An elegant and extremely versatile cruise simply unmatched in performance,
comfort, and eaworthiness.
The Abaco 40 finds favour with those who want fine sea-keeping and performance in a boat with classic aesthetics. Its hull — broad chine flats aft on a modified deep-vee — was first proven in a 39-footer built by Bruckmann in 1994. The form gets on a level plane at 12 knots and is remarkably fuel-efficient from the mid-teens on up.
Powered by a single Cummins 670 HP diesel, she cruises in the low 20s and tops out near 30 knots. The single propeller and rudder are protected by a skeg, which also helps her well-known tracking ability. A twin-engine pod-drive version is available with top speeds in the high 30s.
Below, the salon’s facing settees convert to berths. The machinery space sits under the sole, accessed by large hatches. The galley is to port, open overhead to the pilothouse windshield; head and shower are to starboard, forward of the helm. A vee-berth — or an island double — lives forward.

Flybridge:
The Flybridge configuration adds an elevated helm station above the main cabin — giving the captain commanding sightlines and a cleaner read of the water ahead. Above the roofline, the view changes entirely.
It also creates something the base vessel doesn’t offer: a dedicated open-air deck for guests. A place to sit above the waterline, in the open, while the vessel is underway. On a well-crafted day cruiser, that distinction matters.
The Abaco 40 Flybridge is available as a semi-custom build. Full specifications, layout options, and photography are available on request — speak with an adviser.
