Our Tradition · Two generations · One discipline

The standard was set before you were looking

One family, two generations, a single discipline:
hand-built sail and power yachts that reward a lifetime on the water.

From C&C to a family legacy.

Erich Bruckmann, along with George Cuthbertson and George Cassian, was one of the founding partners of C&C Yachts — a name that would go on to define a generation of North American sailing. From the early 1960s through to the late 1980s, Erich ran the C&C Custom Yachts Division with his son Mark close at hand.

During that time, C&C Custom Yachts built some 200 custom and semi-custom vessels — including many of the most renowned racing and cruising yachts of the era. The standard they set was not a starting point. It was the ceiling other builders spent decades trying to reach.

The same hands.
The same standard.

Today, Mark Bruckmann continues the tradition — building the highest-calibre classic sailing and motor yachts in North America. Mark still employs many of the key craftsmen from the original C&C Custom Division. Their hands are the same hands that built the benchmark.

Bruckmann’s product line consists of timelessly designed, purpose-built vessels. All share a common respect for the sea, for lasting quality, and for the owner who expects both. The facility — 25,000 square feet, 20 miles west of Toronto — is where old-world skills meet today’s most modern materials, techniques, and equipment.

The addition of Ellis to the name marks not a departure from this heritage, but its next, richer chapter. The same personal relationships. The same uncompromising standards. An expanded vision of what a crafted vessel can be.

“Their workmanship continues to embody the finest attention to craftsmanship and detail — old-world skills combined with today’s most modern materials, techniques and equipment.”

Bruckmann+Ellis Legacy

For over 57 years, the Bruckmann name has meant one thing to the most discerning mariners in North America: that when you commission a vessel here, it will be built as though it is the only vessel that matters.
