An elegant and extremely versatile cruise simply unmatched in performance,
comfort, and eaworthiness.
The MK II takes the Bruckmann 50 pilothouse cruising sloop further — a lengthened hull with an integral stern platform, and the option of a 200hp John Deere for owners who want serious speed under power. She made 10 knots on her first sea trial at under 5 GPH. For context, that’s better range efficiency than most trawlers of a similar size — and you can always sail the passage entirely if the wind is there.
Walk in from the stern and the first thing you notice is the light. No steep companionway into a dark interior — the main salon opens up properly, with the inside steering station at one end and a full chart table alongside it. The cockpit and salon each seat four at dinner. Most owners end up eating on whichever side has the better view that evening. There’s also a library and den — you can fit it with a writing desk, a bar, a television, or a built-in fireplace. Yes, a fireplace. On a sailboat. That’s what 51 feet gives you room to do. The love seat pulls out to a proper bunk when guests arrive, so it’s a third stateroom when you need it and a sitting room when you don’t.
Every MK II is a commission. Clients are welcome at any stage of construction — from hull lay-up to launch day. Most take us up on it.
